About Cruinniú
Cruinniú is a female chamber choir based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow
We perform 2,3,4 and 5 part pieces in a variety of genres; from sacred to traditional, popular to classical.
Cruinniú was formed in 2011 under the direction of Rosarii Kinsella A.R.I.A.M.
Rosarii has a history steeped in music, from piano teaching to choir conducting.
Cruinniú have taken part in many national and international competitions since their formation. Most recently, we have competed in Navan, receiving the highest score of the festival as well as 'Sligo National Choral Festival', which saw us receive first place in the 'Female Voices Choir' category.
Cruinniú now perform in a non-competitive capacity, hosting our own events as well as singing at weddings, anniversary celebrations and local and national events. We recently reached the finals of the Irish A Capella Competition 2017 in Dublin. We were chosen to sing at the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Leinster House and have made an appearance on BBC Radio Ulster with Gerry Kelly.
Cruinniú have collaborated with Arklow Silver Band and Festival Brass NI on a number of occasions and we look forward to more in the near future.
Every year, our most popular event is 'Carols by Candlelight', which raises funds for highly-deserving Arklow-based causes, such as 'Wheels for Darragh', 'Arklow Cancer Support Group' and 'Arklow Action Community Resource Centre'.
To date, we have raised almost €30,000 through our various fundraising events.
Cruinniú is available for performances for weddings, corporate occasions and concerts.
